On September 26, 2014, a bunch of student teachers set off from Ayotzinapana, Mexico to go to Iguala in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. They were going to protest against state policies. 43 of them never returned. They were taken off their bus and taken away by ?the police? Drug gangs? They were shot or maybe (as the government claimed) burnt. But for most people in the country ‘Fue el estado’ (it was the state. The incoming president Lopez Obrador has promised a public enquiry when he takes office in 2018.
